Green Acres Furniture, from Forest to Furniture

written by Sarah J. Grezlik

Paul and Naomi Swartzentruber first began in the furniture business in 1988 when they opened the doors to Green Acres Furniture Store, Ltd., located north of Mt. Eaton, Ohio. They offer splendid Amish Handcrafted Furniture. Their dining room furniture is among the best in the industry and truly adds glamor to any decor.

Less than a year after the business started, things really started to take off. Over the next three years their children, Steve, Leon, David and Ruth Ann, became heavily involved. Today, they are all shareholders as the third generation is now starting to follow in their footsteps. Over the years since the family started the furniture store they have expanded numerous times. There has been growth in both their workshop and in their retail store.

Green Acres Furniture is known for their fine handcrafted, hardwood custom Amish furniture. With more than 40,000 square feet of manufacturing and showroom space they are able to accommodate many styles of handcrafted furniture. Their “Forest to Furniture” method means they choose their own timber while it is still in the woods and follow it from the mill, to the dry kiln, to the workshop, where it is then transformed into the beautiful handcrafted hardwood furniture that is on display in their showroom. They also carry fine lines of upholstered furniture in their showroom.

Green Acres Furniture is located at 7412 Massillon Rd. ( SR 241), approximately 2 miles north of Mt. Eaton in southeastern Wayne County. Their regular store hours are Monday through Saturday 9 am to 5 pm. and they are closed on Sundays. For more information visit or call 330-359-6251 or toll free 800-807-0975.
