Did you know that the Domestic Violence hotline in Canton received 4,000 calls last year? When local business owner Eric Mounts heard this, he didn’t waste any time responding to this cry for help. He quickly rallied the resources of his company, Modern Hearing Solutions, and gifted financial support to the Domestic Violence Project in the amount of $500.00.
The local Domestic Violence Project office offers guidance for safety planning, crisis counseling and information – the lifeline people need to understand the dynamics of domestic violence. (The Hotline telephone number is below.) The number of women who need their help in Canton alone is surprising. DVPI reports that in a year they shelter about 300 women and their children in safe houses – 6500 children spent the night in a DVPI shelter just last year.
