Massillon now has its own “Hometown Internet Destination.” The Massillon iTownz website went online in March with a plethora of web surfing features providing useful information targeted to satisfy the needs of Massillon residents. The directory of local business listings is the heart of the iTownz website. These listings are free to local businesses and even include a link to their website. Local restaurants are encouraged to put their menus on the site, also gratis. There are many free features offered on the site because iTownz visionaries understand that visitor traffic to the site is essential to its success. As more and more people continue to use the site, a win-win occurs for residents who benefit from the “one-stop-shopping” aspect of the site while local businesses represented on the site benefit from the exposure.
Visitors to Massillon iTownz enjoy easy access to local news and weather, local maps, movie show times at the Lincoln Lions Theatre and the Great Escape along with Canton’s Tinseltown, Movies 10 and the Palace Theatre. Also linked right on the home page are the Ohio Lottery, ESPN, online menus for local eateries and a fabulous coupon page featuring local merchant coupons and links to iShopStark, Groupon and scads of irresistible national coupon sites.
The Community Events calendar is a major feature of the Massillon’s iTownz website. It is packed with local flavor and is “action central” for those Massillonians looking for something to do any night of the week. Included here are links to active calendars which link directly to the schedules of the Massillon Chamber, Downtown Massillon Association, the Library, Museum, Rec Center, YMCA, Ananada Center for the Arts, MHS school and Hometown Ohio Massillon Cable to name a few. Calendar links are also included for the Palace Theatre, Canton Symphony Orchestra, VOCI, Arts in Stark, Canton First Friday, Canton Arts District, Canton Ballet, Canton Museum of Art, Canton Players Guild and even the RepBuzz. Massillon groups are being encouraged to send in their press releases for inclusion in the calendar and on the iTownz blog.
Since being added, the iTownz blog has quickly gained in popularity. Thousands have subscribed with the numbers growing daily. The blog offers submissions with information about topics such as anything Amish, NE Ohio attractions and businesses, education, local fundraising, cleaning tips, recipes, gas saving tips even clean funny jokes and daily inspiration.
The Massillon iTownz website offers all this, and much more. Log on today by going to www.itownz.com/massillon. The Massillon site is also clickable off of the national home page www.itownz.com. Other iTownz community websites are online in Canton, North Canton and throughout Tuscarawas, Holmes and Wayne County as well as in Toledo and Morgantown WV. New sites will soon debut in Green-Hartville-Uniontown and Bradenton County Florida in the Tampa Bay area. The concept of the community website is expected to be the next iconic trend on the Internet and is unique only to iTownz.com founded in Dover, Ohio. Another indication that businesses in Northeast Ohio are indeed national trend-setters!
